Tenexes Tensioning Systems recently announced the introduction of a torque verification system it says will simplify the lug-nut torque process and improve vehicle safety. TVS software and the TVS digital torque wrench for the Tenexes system fill in the gaps left by other torque instruments. First, the work order is downloaded to the TVS wrench, and the work order instruction sheet is printed. The technician simply uses the tool to perform the work, and the results are automatically recorded. On completion, the data is uploaded and stored. The user can print out a summary report as needed.

When the technician starts applying torque, the minimum torque is shown on the TVS wrench on a display with a gray background. As the correct specification is approached, an LED illuminates the display with a yellow-orange light and, when the specification is attained, the light changes to a bright green. Just pull to green. If the tech makes a mistake and overtorques the lug nut, the display changes to a bright red.

The TVS software runs on Windows 2000 SP3 and Windows XP Professional.
