Premium synthetic oil manufacturer Royal Purple has announced it will again host a contest that sends one lucky winner to participate in and drive on the Hot Rod Magazine Power Tour. The 2013 Royal Purple High Performance Experience will be hosted on the brand’s Facebook fan page beginning April 15.

Entrants must submit a photo of their American muscle car or performance vehicle between April 15 and April 23 on the contest tab of the Royal Purple Facebook fan page to be considered. The winner will be announced April 30 and will receive tour registration fees, VIP parking and a Royal Purple Visa gift card to use for expenses. Royal Purple apparel and decals also will be furnished to the winner.

Prior to final judging, a field of five semi-finalists will be determined by popular vote from April 24-26. A grand prize winner will be selected from the five semi-finalists by a panel of independent judges after each submits a detailed list of the vehicle’s specs and modifications, as well as providing proof of registration, insurance and a valid driver’s license.

Last year’s winner of the Royal Purple High Performance Experience, Scott Shanks, will serve as one of six judges for this year’s contest. Including Shanks, this year’s panel of judges are Jeff Dahlin, publisher of Hot Rod and Hot Rod Deluxe; Greg Gill, vice president of marketing and communications for Pirelli World Challenge; Jim McIlvaine, eCare manager for Optima Batteries Inc.; and Jeff Lacina, owner of Track Guys Performance Driving Events.

In addition to the winner, one runner-up also will be selected in the event that the winner cannot fulfill contest winner requirements. As a runner-up, they will receive a case of Royal Purple Motor Oil and variety of Royal Purple gear.
