Pronto And Motorcraft Host ‘Motor City Madness II’ Event In Detroit

Twenty-two service center customers from around the country were treated to an action-packed weekend that paid tribute to the rich Ford heritage of the “Motor City” as Pronto and Motorcraft hosted their second annual Motor City Madness event Aug. 19-21.

pronto-mustang-ride-alongOn Friday, Aug. 19, lucky winners and guests were “wined-and-dined” at the historic Piquette plant, birthplace of the Ford Model T. Attendees learned how the “Car of the Century” was conceived, developed and built on location. Giuliano Zuccato, known as “Mustang Man” and noted for his work modeling the 1964 Ford Mustang, spoke of his experiences while all enjoyed the welcome dinner in the historic setting.

Saturday offered an opportunity to tour the Ford Rouge Factory and watch as a Ford F150 was assembled. Guests then enjoyed the world-famous Woodward Dream Cruise, which included a stroll down Mustang Alley and an opportunity to view beautifully restored classic cars and special interest vehicles on display. Winners wrapped the day’s activities over dinner at the Dearborn Inn.

The weekend’s activities concluded on Sunday with tours of the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village, taking a step back in time to experience early American culture.

“Ford Motor Co. has such a long history and many interesting stories to tell. We very much enjoyed sharing the ‘Motor City’ experience with some of Pronto’s Ford fans from the automotive service business” said Bill Atkinson, Motorcraft marketing and sales manager.

Robert Roos, vice president, sales and marketing for the National Pronto Association, added, “This unique opportunity offered attendees an up close and personal experience in a number of iconic automotive settings. We are so proud to have been able to partner with Ford and Motorcraft to offer our customers this program once again. Surveyed attendees loved the personal tours and reported it as ‘one of their best experiences ever.’”
