Bosch Introduces New HEPA Premium Cabin Air Filter Line For Passenger Vehicle Applications

bosch-hepa-cabin-air-filterRobert Bosch LLC has launched a new high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) premium cabin air filter line. The new HEPA line includes 58 SKUs covering 110 million vehicles in operation in the U.S. and Canada.

Cabin air filters are designed to clean the air that enters a vehicle through the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system by trapping fumes, pollen, dust and pollutants and preventing them from entering the vehicle. This provides a more pleasant environment inside the vehicle and is especially beneficial for passengers who suffer with allergies and other respiratory problems.

A HEPA cabin air filter offers advantages over a non-HEPA filter including protection against finer microscopic particles of dust, allergens, harmful gasses and bacteria to provide the cleanest air possible inside the vehicle. It also reduces deposits of these substances on HVAC components to promote optimum performance and reduces the risk of costly repairs.

Benefits of Bosch HEPA Premium Cabin Air Filters include:

• Triple-layer construction that includes a support layer, the HEPA layer and a static cotton layer that together provide outstanding efficiency in trapping more particles and dust than double layer filter designs
• A melt-blown electrostatic HEPA layer made with very dense media that provides greater particle-trapping capabilities than non-HEPA cabin air filters
• Efficiency of 99.97 percent at 0.3 microns to provide the cleanest air possible, according to the company
• Structural ribs that provide additional stability and durability for a stronger cabin air filter

Bosch HEPA Premium Cabin Air Filters are designed and tested to meet high-efficiency particulate air standards based on test standard ASTM D2986 and have an efficiency rating of 99.97 percent at 0.3 microns, according to the company. Engaging packaging with the HEPA logo, product benefits and a product window for easy viewing draw attention on the shelf, the company adds.

According to the company, most Bosch HEPA Premium Cabin Air Filters can be replaced in 15 to 20 minutes. Bosch recommends replacing the cabin air filter every 12,000 miles or at the manufacturer’s suggested change interval as indicated in the vehicle owner’s manual.
