WITI-TV, WATERTOWN – A car repair shop in Watertown is doing what it can to jump start the local economy. During tax season, the shop owners are waiving their sales tax. Owner John Mason will pay it himself.
"Basically you’re going to be saving 5.5% on your parts and labor for any repair," said Mason. From now until April 15th, the car shop will offer the discount to customers who ask for it.
Northside Auto did another promotion last year. It cost the shop about $1,000. This year, the shop owner is prepared to lose twice that. But he hopes to make it up on revving up new business.
