U.S. EPA Climate Protection Partnership and MACS Worldwide Join Forces for Free Mobile A/C Informational Webinars

First free webinar scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 10, 2009 at 1 p.m. EST.

Are you a professional making your living in the mobile air conditioning (A/C) sector of the automotive marketplace? Do you need more information on the proposed Waxman-Markley climate bill? Do you fully understand Section 609 of the United States Clean Air Act of 1990? If you wish you could find the information you need to be better informed on these subjects and more mobile A/C related subjects, you now have a source to get important information delivered to your computer desktop.

The Climate Protection Partnership division of the U.S. EPA will partner with the Mobile Air Conditioning Society (MACS) Worldwide for monthly informational webinars focused on informing the mobile A/C community on environmental best practices for servicing mobile A/C systems and demystifying current and proposed regulations.

The first webinar has been scheduled for Thursday, December 10, 2009 at 1 p.m. EST and will discuss implications for the mobile A/C community of the proposed Waxman-Markley climate bill currently under congressional consideration and an introduction to Section 609 of the U.S. Clean Air Act of 1990. Section 609 requires all repair technicians who work on mobile A/C systems to recover and recycle refrigerant.

"Webinar technology makes it possible to reach people and conveniently deliver essential information to stakeholders in the mobile A/C community," explained Kristen Taddonio, Lead, Strategic Climate Projects, Climate Protection Partnerships.

"MACS is proud to be a part of this outreach project and share in delivering important, accurate information to the greater mobile A/C community," remarked Elvis L. Hoffpauir, MACS president and COO.

MACS updated the Section 609 certification program with current service information, so even technicians already certified can learn something new by attending this webinar.

To register for this FREE webinar, e-mail [email protected] or register online at the MACS website on the My Profile page. You may also call Pam Smith at (215) 631-7020 x 306 to register by phone.
