Dorman Products has announced the release of its 2009 Service Dealer Guide, Volume 1. Since its inception, the Dorman Service Dealer Guide has been successful in increasing awareness of Dorman’s "New to the Aftermarket" products and repair solutions among Independent Service Dealers.

Dorman will distribute more than 600,000 copies of the Service Dealer Guide through its customer base.

The guide consists of 18 pages packed with dozens of "New to the Aftermarket" parts including sway bar kits, leaf spring shackle kits, wheel hubs and EGR tubes. The products featured in the Service Dealer Guide have been significant in lowering the total cost of repairs by allowing the replacement of the part, instead of the whole assembly, according to Dorman. In addition, many products are "Dorman Engineered" to be better than the original equipment version, and most parts are offered as complete kits with all the necessary hardware for quick and easy installation.

New this year, Dorman has made the guide more accessible by launching www.DormanSDG.com, a companion website where visitors can obtain a free copy of the Service Dealer Guide. While there, visitors can also experience an audio and digital version of the guide as well as sign-up for the opportunity to be featured in the next Service Dealer Guide.

Jeff Darby, group vice president of automotive sales said, "In the months ahead, the aftermarket has the opportunity to increase sales by filling the void being left in the market by the troubles of OE dealers. Dorman’s 2009 Service Dealer Guide provides a call to action for parts distributors to be ready and have the parts in stock. Now more than ever service dealers should call their aftermarket supplier first before calling the OE dealer for parts."
