New Snap-on Wireless Battery System Tester Eliminates Need For Second Set Of Hands

snap-on-battery-testerThe new Snap-on EECS550 Wireless Battery System Tester allows techs the freedom to move around a vehicle with the main module communicating via Bluetooth to the monitoring unit connected directly to the vehicle battery. This functionality virtually eliminates the need for a second tech to perform on-screen commands and help with starting or revving the engine, which frees up additional tech time to work on more vehicles per day, says the company.

“The EECS550 maximizes manpower and gets the critical job of battery system testing done with just one set of hands,” says Dave Brekke, product manager for Snap-on. “Snap-on has listened to techs in shops where this work is a daily task. The tester will change the way techs are able to service cars, trucks, motorcycles, golf carts, ATVs and more. From the strong, built-in magnets that hold the tester in place to the easy-to-see, back-lit screen that displays in eight languages and reports battery, starting and charging system conditions, this tester takes productivity to the next level.”

The EECS550 works on standard AGM, GEL and EFB batteries and features patented conductance technology for battery systems ranging from 6 to 24 volts and rated 100-2,000 CCA. The EECS550 detects discharged batteries down to one volt and comes with a two-year warranty.

“This is one battery system tester that will get techs talking. The EECS550 helps them get the job done when they need to by using Bluetooth technology they already know and use every day,” says Brekke.
