Five Idaho Students Receive Albano Scholarships

Five students from Idaho planning careers in the automotive or heavy-duty aftermarket industry received scholarships through the Global Automotive Aftermarket Symposium (GAAS) Scholarship Committee, thanks to the support of John and Kathy Albano, former owners of Muffler Warehouse, the CARQUEST member company in Idaho.

The award winners, listed below, will each receive a $1,000 scholarship award:
Skyler Badertscher of Lewiston, attending Lewis and Clark State College in the automotive and diesel technician program
Matthew Bridges of Filer, attending College of Southern Idaho in the automotive technician program
Leslie Chapman of Idaho Falls, attending Idaho State University in the collision technician program
Jordan Fuller of Rexburg, attending Brigham Young University-Idaho in the automotive technician and business programs
Anthony Turner of Pocatello, attending Idaho State University in the automotive technology program

“It is our honor to assist these talented students as they pursue their education and careers in the aftermarket,” said John Albano. “This industry has meant a great deal to our family through the years, and we are pleased to support the aftermarket’s future in this way.”

Additional scholarship funding comes from industry contributions provided by individuals, companies and foundations. Contributions can be made to the GAAS Scholarship Fund, c/o Susan Medick at the Auto Care Association at 301-654-6664, or [email protected].
