Federated Racing Team Goes Pink In October For Breast Cancer Awareness Month

FederatedFederated Auto Parts and Ken Schrader Racing have teamed up again this year in the battle against breast cancer. In its annual PINK campaign, the team is selling pink ribbons that will be placed on the No. 52 Federated Auto Parts car driven by Matt Tifft in the Oct. 3 ARCA race at Kansas Speedway. Now in its fourth year, the ribbon campaign will benefit the Breast Health Center at CMC Northeast in Concord, N.C.

“When Ann Schrader first called us about the PINK campaign, we knew this was a worthy cause that our members would support,” said J.R. Bishop, motorsports and event marketing director for Federated. “Now, for four straight years, we have gone all out with special PINK car wraps and PINK racing merchandise to raise funds for CMC Northeast. Ken and the entire Federated team are extremely visible in the racing community and we believe that through the PINK campaign, we will continue to raise awareness.”

Ken Schrader Racing and Federated Auto Parts fans can purchase a PINK ribbon ($10 each) by visiting http://givenortheastfoundation.org/donate. Just follow the prompts and in the designation section, select Ken Schrader Racing. The name of the donator’s choice will be placed on a PINK ribbon that with be displayed on the No. 52 Federated Auto Parts ARCA car on Oct. 3.

“I’m very proud to be running a PINK Federated car in the ARCA race,” said Tifft. “When I learned the significance behind the PINK ribbons on the car, it became clear that the Schrader team and Federated Auto Parts are truly dedicated to the fight against breast cancer. I know my family, fans and friends will all get behind the Federated team’s PINK fundraising efforts in October.”

In addition to the PINK ribbon campaign, Schrader Racing will offer a variety of merchandise via “Annie’s Attic” on the Ken Schrader Racing Facebook page to raise funds for the PINK campaign. “Annie’s Attic” was created by Ken’s wife, Ann, as a way to fundraise for charities and friends in need, including their dear friend Lisa Meloni, who lost her battle with cancer in September 2011. Meloni worked within the motorsports community and had may friends in racing, who continue the battle against cancer in her memory.
