Brembo Introduces New Products At Automechanika Frankfurt

Brembo this week is again exhibiting at Automechanika Frankfurt in Hall 3 Booth No. 21. The world’s largest trade show for the automotive aftermarket is taking place at Frankfurt Messe Sept. 16-20.

At Automechanika 2014, Brembo is introducing several new products for the European marketplace, as well as several recent developments in the U.S. aftermarket, including the introduction of the first Porsche and Supercar applications in the OE replacement range and an increase in the range of UV-coated discs.

Brembo is introducing 22 Porsche applications in the OE replacement catalog, the first ever by Brembo. These applications cover virtually the entire range of modern Porsches, including Porsche 911 (1969-83 and 1994-2012), 912 (1976), 924 (1987-88), 944 (1984-89), Boxster (1997-2013), Cayman (2006-12) and Cayenne (2003-12).

Equally important is the introduction of Supercar applications that will cover models like Aston Martin DB9 and Vanquish, Audi RS4, Cadillac CTS-V, Lamborghini Murcielago, Maserati Quattroporte GTS, Mercedes C63 AMG, Mistubishi Evo X, Nissan GT-R and Subaru Impreza STI.

Brembo’s UV-coated discs were introduced in 2013 at the SEMA Show and the range was increased during 2014 to cover virtually all of the key product part numbers consumers demand.

Another significant announcement for 2014 impacting both Brembo original equipment and aftermarket was the grand opening of its expanded North American manufacturing operations in Homer, Mich. The celebration renewed Brembo’s commitment to North America with an investment totaling more than $115 million dollars through the end of 2015, expanding the facility that houses production of brake, disc, caliper and corner module manufacturing.

North America has now become the No. 1 market for Brembo, representing 24.3 percent of the sales with a 29.6 percent increase in revenue year-over-year.

Brembo also announced the construction of a cast-iron foundry near its Homer facilities in Michigan, beginning the process of vertical integration of its production capacity in U.S. Construction will begin in 2015 with completion expected in 2017, allowing Brembo to bring together all phases of production in order to guarantee greater process efficiency.
