CORSA Performance Exhausts And Cool Air Intakes For 2012-2014 Scion FR-S

CorsaScionScion FR-S enthusiasts can enhance the performance, sound and appearance of their vehicles with acoustically-tuned exhaust systems and efficient cool air intakes from CORSA Performance.

CORSA, a leader in the American muscle car aftermarket, is now applying their engineering expertise to bring high-quality, uniquely-designed performance exhausts and air intakes to the sport compact segment.

To maximize the advantages of the Scion’s Boxer engine configuration, CORSA offers two cat-back, dual-rear exhaust systems featuring a straight-through design that reduces back pressure to increase engine efficiency and enhance power.

CORSA exhausts feature patented Reflective Sound Cancellation (RSC) technology that tunes out undesirable low frequencies that cause drone and creates a clean, high-performance sound under acceleration. Acoustically styled to match the sporty Scion personality, CORSA exhausts feature their Sport sound level which growls at idle, is robust under acceleration and offers a no-drone cruise experience.

These American-made systems have either a 2.5-inch or three-inch diameter air path with dual rear exits and twin 4.5-inch tips, and are available in either polished stainless steel or black tips. The new black Pro-Series tips feature Physical Vapor Deposition technology, a vacuum coating process that infuses the tips with black film to create a deep, reflective black finish that won’t chip, flake, or peel and resists corrosion.

CORSA exhaust systems are 50-state emissions legal and offer a limited lifetime warranty for as long as you own your Scion. CORSA systems include all necessary hardware as well as an illustrated installation guide, and are designed to bolt on and fit right, with no cutting or welding necessary.

In addition to premium exhaust systems, CORSA offers uniquely-designed cool air intakes to improve engine efficiency and deliver increases in horsepower and torque for enhanced acceleration. Featuring Donaldson PowerCore filtration technology, these closed box air intake systems protect the intake from high engine compartment temperatures and increase the flow of cooler, denser air to the engine. CORSA air intake systems are maintenance free, require no cleaning or oiling and are warrantied for up to 150,000 miles or four years under normal operating conditions.

Lifter Deactivation

The area of contact between the lifters and cam lobes is the highest loaded surface inside an engine.

The basic function of a valve lifter is pretty simple. It sits on the camshaft and transfers the motions of the cam lobe up through the pushrods and rockers to open and close the valves. The size and shape of the cam lobe under the lifter (multiplied by the ratio of the rocker arms) determine valve lift and duration. As such, the lifter just follows the motions of the cam. But, it does play a role in valvetrain lash (clearance) and noise.
