iATN Membership Exceeds 70,000

The International Automotive Technicians' Network (iATN) set a new membership record in early January when it accepted its 70,000th active member.

The International Automotive Technicians’ Network (iATN) set a new membership record in early January when it accepted its 70,000th active member. iATN, www.iatn.net, has members in 154 countries and collectively they share more than 1.5 million years of experience.

“As iATN membership continues to grow, the amount of knowledge exchanged on the network also grows, making it an even more valuable tool for technicians around the world,” said Brent Black, iATN founder. “With 70,000 active members, we also have tremendous strength and ability to promote education, professionalism and integrity in the automotive repair industry and shape the future of the industry.”

Automotive service professionals join iATN because of its technical resources and to participate in the camaraderie unique to this close-knit group. TechHelp, the heart of the network, is one of iATN’s most valuable features where professional automotive technicians discuss highly technical auto repair problems on almost every topic. Members also have access to more than 20 different web forums, live conferencing for real-time discussions among peers, 24 hours a day, and other technical resources ranging from manufacturer-specific information to government regulations.

The iATN Knowledge Base, a collection of automotive repair databases with real-world technical information, also is available to members. The Knowledge Base contains the FIX Database, which is an archive of TechHelp help requests, replies and fixes submitted by members, Web Forum Archives with posts from iATN’s 20 forums, and a Waveform Library with waveforms, scan data, component photos and other vehicle-specific files.

iATN was founded in 1995 and is the largest online community of automotive technicians, repair shop owners and other allied service professionals in the world with more than 70,000 members from 154 countries. The members of this group exchange technical knowledge with their peers around the globe, sharing more than 1.5 million years of experience.

The iATN Mission of Excellence: To promote the continued growth, success and image of the professional automotive technician by providing a forum for the exchange of knowledge and the promotion of education, professionalism and integrity.
