ACDelco Previews All-New, Online GM OE Service Parts Catalog for Aftermarket at AAPEX Show

ACDelco will demonstrate an upcoming, all-new online catalog of ACDelco GM OE Service parts for the aftermarket at the annual Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo (AAPEX) show, Nov. 2-4 in Las Vegas (Booth 4638).

ACDelco will demonstrate an upcoming, all-new online catalog of ACDelco GM OE Service parts for the aftermarket at the annual Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo (AAPEX) show, Nov. 2-4 in Las Vegas (Booth 4638).

“This is an aftermarket-friendly catalog designed to deliver the speed, confidence and integration our customers want and need when they are searching for GM OE Service parts,” said Steve Sigg, ACDelco e-business manager. “This is the only true GM OE Service catalog designed for the aftermarket.”

The browser-based catalog, being developed for ACDelco by Distribution Service Technologies, Inc. (DST, Inc.) of Lake Forest, CA, is partly based on one currently used at GM dealers. The new catalog allows customers to search for a component three different ways: by the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), by illustration or by year, make and model. One of the unique features of the catalog is a mouse-over interface that takes a user from the vehicle to the vehicle subsystem to illustrations of subsystem components that show what additional related parts (with part numbers) may be needed to complete the repair.

The new online catalog will not include ACDelco parts for non-GM applications or non-OE lines such as the Professional and Advantage lines. It will be made available to ACDelco wholesale distributors as well as independent service centers and ACDelco WISE Internet Program (WIP) systems users.

“We are continually striving to develop innovative, industry-leading e-business tools that make ACDelco the first choice, go-to solution for parts,” said Sigg. “We think our customers who try out the catalog at AAPEX will like what they see.”

“We’re using the most advanced Web design techniques combined with the best application information ACDelco has to offer,” says DST CEO Stan Gowisnock. “This unique combination will result in an unprecedented enhancement to ACDelco’s catalog presence in the marketplace.”

The catalog will also be available through catalog providers. Additional details on how to obtain the catalog will be announced when it officially launches.
