ACDelco has launched a comprehensive Pigtail, Wiring and Sockets Catalog, which is integrated into the ACDelco Illustrated Catalog that contains replacement components for 1992-current model year General Motors vehicles.

The catalog is located in WIP, ACDelco’s online parts catalog and ordering web application.

The Pigtail Catalog has easy search functions such as part numbers for pigtails and sockets, number of cavities and gender for pigtails, and a separate search for wiring sockets. The catalog contains high-quality images that can be enlarged to show more detail.

ACDelco also has integrated the shopping cart throughout WIP to simplify parts ordering. To access the Pigtail Catalog or other ACDelco specialty catalogs, simply hover over the green Show Catalogs button at the bottom of the Illustrated Catalog.

WIP is an easy and convenient way for independent service centers to order parts. It also allows access to the highly user-friendly ACDelco Illustrated Catalog, which significantly streamlines lookups through advanced, interactive displays of vehicle systems and corresponding parts. The displays can be integrated with the user’s inventory for immediate identification of available parts and correspondingprices.

WIP features and benefits
ACDelco WIP connects independent service centers (ISCs) directly to their ACDelco supplier, displaying availability and price while allowing convenient parts ordering at any time. Because WIP uses an Internet connection, there is no hardware or software to install. WIP also boosts efficiency because there is no more holding on the phone to contact suppliers.

Voltage Drop Testing

The measurement of voltage is like the speed of the traffic.

Picture your local freeway. When the traffic is light, the traffic flows at the same speeds, even if there is a lane closure. As the number of cars increases for rush hour, the speeds slow down. A lane closure can cause traffic to come to a standstill.

In this example, the cars during rush hour are like load and power in a starter motor on a circuit. The lane closure is like a bad connection or damaged wire. With light traffic loads, the speed of the traffic will not slow down as lanes merge. But, during rush hour, the speeds drop and the backup builds. In an electrical circuit, the resistance produces heat.
