Busch had two incredible saves during the wild 75-lap sprint around the Daytona International Speedway. At 200 mph, Busch twice controlled his Toyota Camry with expert precision. When asked how he managed to pull off two huge saves, Busch responded, “Stab and steer … that’s what you do … and some braking. There were brakes involved, too. I was steering, stabbing, braking, gassing, everything in-between, trying to keep the thing straight and get it back under control.”

The Raybestos Superspeedway racing brake package, used by NASCAR teams like Joe Gibbs Racing, combines ample stopping power with a considerable weight savings advantage on tracks like Daytona’s 2.5-Mile Tri-Oval.

For reliable performance, all the Joe Gibbs Sprint Cup racecars are also equipped with Raybestos Racing ball joints and tie rods. The premium-quality chassis parts help fine-tune each car’s suspension setup for optimal grip and handling.

The lessons learned on tracks like Daytona are continually translated into product improvements across the entire Raybestos product line, which includes racing, street performance, police patrol/pursuit vehicles and heavy-duty trucks.

Supercharger Pros And Cons

Customers generally look to superchargers for the instant throttle response, not fuel economy.

Superchargers are synonymous with making horsepower, especially in drag racing, gaining popularity and recognition as a viable power adder. However, they’re not the best option for saving fuel.

While most automakers are currently fascinated with employing turbochargers to make up for lost horsepower due to lower-displacement engines, do superchargers have a place in the current automotive climate? Indeed, this power-adder is more commonly found in the performance arena, because it produces power at lower rpm and comes in a smaller package than a turbocharger. But there are some downsides.
