Veyance Technologies Offers Belts Training for Technicians and DIYers

Veyance Technologies, the exclusive manufacturer and marketer of Goodyear Engineered Products, introduced the Gatorback Training Series of videos for its automotive belts and tensioners to help installers and do-it-yourselfers inspect, identify and replace worn serpentine belts for all applications.

The manufacturer of Goodyear Gatorback belts is taking its dedication to service and training online to YouTube.

"Training is an important part of any technical application," said Dave Wenger, the automotive aftermarket marketing manager for Veyance. "We stress safety first for all installations, which means having the right information to do the job."

Wenger explained that having a properly installed belt with all of its components working correctly is a big part of system performance. The main theme of the video is the importance of replacing the drive belt system and not just the belt.

"Where there’s belt wear, oftentimes there’s an issue with other components as well," Wenger said. "Alignment issues, worn tensioners and damaged idlers are all common causes of belt damage that can leave a vehicle stranded on the side of the road."

The videos are available for download on iPods, iPhones and iPads as well, enabling installers to take the tech tips right to the garage.
