Airtex Mobile App To Scan Vehicle Identification Numbers

Airtex Introduces New Mobile App To Scan Vehicle Identification Numbers

The new Airtex Fuel Delivery Systems VIN Scan App uses the smartphone's camera to scan the vehicle identification number, saving the user the time and trouble of punching in multiple numbers. Once the VIN is scanned, the app takes the user to the Airtex product catalog for that specific vehicle, displaying the fuel pump needed, technical specifications and where to buy. The app also can be used to search for Airtex products by entering the part number or year, make and model of the vehicle.

Diagnosing Misfires

What if there are no codes and a misfire is intermittent? This is where it gets complicated.

What is a misfire? Is a misfire when the cylinder does not fire? Is it when the cylinder fires too soon or too late? The answer is “yes” to both questions. Some misfire complaints are a flashing check engine light, and a P0300 to P0312 diagnostic trouble code (DTC) indicates that one or more cylinders are misfiring. This is the easiest misfire to diagnose. But, what if there are no codes and a misfire is intermittent? This is where it gets complicated.
