Mighty Auto Parts’ High-Performance Oil Earns Dexos Approval

Mighty Auto Parts has introduced full synthetic 5W-30 Engine Guard Motor Oil, which the company said also recently earned the prestigious dexos1 seal of approval for gasoline engines.

Mighty Auto Parts has introduced full synthetic 5W-30 Engine Guard Motor Oil, which the company said also recently earned the prestigious dexos1 seal of approval for gasoline engines. GM Powertrain engineers developed dexos — a proprietary, global engine oil specification designed to meet the stringent requirements of GM advanced engine technology. The evolution of the dexos1 specification is the result of rigorous, developmental and testing processes.

Mighty says its dexos-approved Engine Guard oil exceeds the level of many industry standards for:

● Viscometric properties that minimize friction and improve fuel economy;

● Resisting aeration, thus enabling fuel-saving devices to work optimally;

● Offering improved oxidation, allowing emission systems to operate optimally; and

● Resisting degradation, thus extending mileage intervals between oil changes.

Diagnosing Intercooler Boost Trouble Code P0299

The criteria for setting the code is very basic.

A code P0299 for lower- than-normal boost can be one of the most challenging DTCs to resolve. You might think it is a code for a leak, but it could be more than a leak. The criteria for setting the code is very basic. The engine management system is looking at the desired boost pressure and the actual boost pressure, if the actual and desired do not match for the conditions.

Why do ignition systems give technicians problems when diagnosing ignition-related misfires? The answer is that some technicians use tests that might give inconclusive results or do damage to the coil or drivers inside a module.
