Two technical video series scripted and produced entirely in-house by Airtex Vehicle Electronics won multiple honors – including “Best-in-Show” – in the 2012 Automotive Communications Awards, held in conjunction with the Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo (AAPEX) in Las Vegas. The awards are the latest in a long list of training achievements by the company’s technical services team, which develops an array of in-depth video case studies and other materials for professional automotive technicians, parts professionals and do-it-yourselfers.

The Airtex Vehicle Electronics technical and diagnostic video series was judged “Best-in-Show” in the Business-to-Business category and also received the award for Best Use of YouTube Video. This ever-growing series of hands-on diagnostic videos – available in English and Spanish – garners more than 160,000 views per month and is expected to exceed three million views on YouTube by the end of this year, according to Airtex.

The Airtex team also won the Best Use of YouTube Video award in the Business-to-Consumer category for its series of “Airtex Innovations” videos, which highlight the company’s problem-solving, better-than-original equipment product designs for vehicles susceptible to known driveability issues.

“We have invested heavily in training resources that can have a real bottom-line impact on our customers’ businesses. These awards and the extraordinary popularity of our YouTube videos tell us we’re meeting that objective,” said Bill Nonnamaker, vice president of sales and marketing for Airtex Vehicle Electronics. “We were a pioneer in this space and we continue to build on our leadership through painstaking research into the issues that are facing today’s automotive professionals.”

Available through multiple YouTube channels, including “Airtextech,” as well as the www.airtexVE.com website, the technical and diagnostic video series comprises dozens of case studies covering a variety of common and emerging diagnostic challenges. The most recent case study is “No-Code Misfire Mode 6 Diagnostics,” which offers time-saving tips for diagnosing intermittent misfires on Ford applications.

In addition to Web-based video training and an array of interactive resources offered through www.airtexVE.com, Airtex offers a toll-free technical support hotline featuring Master and L1 ASE-certified technicians. This service is available at 1-800-486-7125, Option 3 (7:30 a.m. – 7 p.m. CST), or by email at [email protected].
