The Car Care Council Women's Board (WB) and the Automotive Communication Council (ACC) has recognized WIX Filters as the 2012 winner of the Automotive Communications Award (ACA) in radio commercial, print/electronic ad and special promotions and promotional events categories.

The Car Care Council Women’s Board (WB) and the Automotive Communication Council (ACC) has recognized WIX Filters as the 2012 winner of the Automotive Communications Award (ACA) in radio commercial, print/electronic ad and special promotions and promotional events categories. WIX’s “We Love Engines” campaign elements won in the radio commercial and print/electronic ad categories and the WIX partnership with Mechanix Wear Gloves won in the special promotion category.

“We are honored to be awarded for our marketing-communications work surrounding our ‘We Love Engines’ campaign and our promotional partnership with Mechanix by prestigious members of the automotive aftermarket industry,” said Mike Harvey, brand manager for WIX Filters, who accepted the award at the industry’s Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo (AAPEX) trade show in October.

“WIX is committed to mechanics, technicians and DIYers who share their passion for engines and quality work and we are proud of our new campaign’s creativity and its ability to inform consumers about the importance of proper vehicle maintenance,” Harvey said.

Representatives of WIX were recognized at the 15th annual Car Care Council Women’s Board Reception on Oct. 30 at the Sands Expo Center in Las Vegas at AAPEX.

The “We Love Engines” campaign, launched in 2012, includes print advertising for light duty and heavy duty automotive trade publications, with creative elements highlighting every day connections between customers and engines. The campaign also includes two 30-second television advertising spots on national cable and two 60-second and five 30-second radio spots on NASCAR programming through the Performance Radio Network.

The Mechanix Wear Gloves and WIX partnership offered a promotion to receive a free pair of Mechanix Wear Gloves retailed at $24.99 with the purchase of one WIX premium oil filter and one WIX regular air or cabin air filter.

The Automotive Communications Awards recognizes companies and agencies that provide automotive information to consumers and the trade professionals who interact with them on a daily basis.
