WIX Filters has announced a partnership with Toyota Racing Development (TRD) to design and supply WIX filters for all Toyota vehicles racing in NASCAR events in 2007. Vehicles in every NASCAR series, including the Camry and Tundra will feature the WIX Filter decal.

"Our exclusive relationship with Toyota Racing is further validation of the technical superiority of WIX’s filtration offerings,” said Bruce Johnston, brand manager, WIX Filters. “WIX provides air and oil filters for almost 100 percent of NASCAR teams and we’re proud to be part of Toyota Racing as it expands into NEXTEL Cup and Busch Series racing.”

WIX has managed all filter development for Toyota Racing since the automobile manufacturer’s emergence, beginning with NASCAR Goody’s Dash Series in 2000. Toyota’s expansion into the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup and Busch series follows three years of Toyota competing in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series (NCTS) with Bill Davis Racing. This season, Toyota is fielding five teams and nine drivers in the NCTS, including defending series champion and 2005 WIX Filters Lap Leader Award Winner Ted Musgrave.

“Our relationship with Toyota extends to the very first Toyota in NASCAR, Robert Huffman’s #38 Toyota Celica, starting in the 2000 Goody’s Dash Series,” said Johnston. “We are very proud that Huffman had WIX filters on his car when he won several events that inaugural year and Toyota’s first NASCAR championship with his driver’s title in 2003.”

In 2007, Bill Davis Racing, Michael Waltrip Racing, and Team Red Bull will all utilize the Toyota Camry equipped with WIX filters in 2007 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series competition. The 2007 Toyota Camry drivers include Jeremy Mayfield and Dave Blaney for Bill Davis Racing, Michael Waltrip and Dale Jarrett for Michael Waltrip Racing, and Brian Vickers for Team Red Bull.
