Snap-on Diagnostics Introduces Software Bundle 7.2

Without regular software upgrades, automotive shops just aren't getting the most out of their diagnostic investments. That's why Snap on created Software Bundle 7.2. Without regular software upgrades, automotive shops just aren’t getting the most out of their diagnostic investments. That’s why Snap-on created Software Bundle 7.2. No matter which diagnostic platform is used – MODIS, SOLUS or the cartridge-powered Scanner – Software Bundle 7.2 delivers the supercharged performance that shops need to win and keep repair customers.

“When customers put off regular vehicle maintenance, vehicle performance suffers. It’s the same with keeping diagnostic platforms running on the latest information,” said Gerry Beronja, director, Global Marketing – Snap-on Diagnostics. “Software Bundle 7.2 provides the latest coverage to keep your diagnostic tool running at peak performance. In the highly competitive repair business, this is one very smart investment.”

Snap-on’s new software upgrade includes new model and system coverage, trouble codes, data parameters and bi-directional tests for 1999-2006 U.S. domestic makes. MODIS and SOLUS customers will save time from the ability to recall the 25 previous vehicles identified, and record 2,000 frame Scanner movies for review on the tool or on the PC with the free ShopStream Connect software application.

In addition to all new 2006 domestic makes, new capabilities include instrument panel tests, such as gauge sweep tests and turning on all telltales, for 2002 and newer GM vehicles. Adaptive reset functions have been added for 2000 and newer Ford and GM Class 2 transmissions. And to completely bleed more ABS systems, an automated test has been added for GM vehicles with Bosch 5.3 systems.

Software Bundle 7.2 also features Fast-Track Troubleshooter repair strategies, which provide the latest real world repair tips and tricks from top technicians, including new domestic engine coverage and information for U.S. domestic and Asian transmission and transfer cases.

The new Quick Health Check Test for MODIS and SOLUS provides a one button test for current code count, readiness monitors and MIL status. Getting at this information quickly can dramatically cut diagnostic time, so shops can repair more vehicles, faster.

Software Bundle 7.2 also incorporates all of the broad, deep coverage offered in previous releases, including component testing and lab scope updates for MODIS.
