Permatex Launches New Training Videos for Automotive Technicians

Permatex, Inc. has expanded its training efforts with the development and release of new training videos designed for professional automotive technicians. Permatex, Inc., an innovative leader in chemical technology for automotive maintenance and repair, has expanded its training efforts with the development and release of new training videos designed for professional automotive technicians. Called the Professional Training Series, the videos cover Permatex’s two core product lines, form-in-place gasketing and chemical threadlockers.

Both of these videos are available on a single DVD and are distributed free of charge to technicians and vocational school teachers nationwide. They are also posted on the Permatex website so technicians can view them online at www.permatex.com/trainingvideos.htm. The company has also embarked on an aggressive ad campaign, using aftermarket trade magazines and banner advertising to help spread the word. In order to more effectively reach out to a wider audience of service technicians, the Professional Training Series DVD is now available in Spanish.

The Permatex Professional Training Series DVD shows technicians how to save time, money and prevent comebacks by choosing the right product for the job and applying it properly. The gasketing video covers the basics of form-in-place gasketing and gasket sealing and features Permatex’s the Right Stuff, an instant gasket maker that requires no cure time. The threadlockers and retaining compounds video shows technicians how to prevent parts loosening caused by vibration, leakage and corrosion.

As Tony Battaglia, director of marketing at Permatex explains, “The need for more technician training is a critical issue in the automotive aftermarket, especially when it comes to the use of service chemicals. These products are an important part of automotive maintenance.” Since there are many different types of service chemicals and application methods, Permatex believes that service technicians need to be aware of the proper applications and procedures for these products, in order to use them more effectively.
