Fel-Pro Introduces Three Exclusive Head Gasket Sets For Popular Subaru Engines

Fel-proFederal-Mogul Motorparts’ Fel-Pro Gaskets brand has introduced three PermaTorque MLS multi-layer-steel head gasket sets for a variety of popular 2.5L engines used in late-model Subaru passenger vehicles. The new sets are among 31 additional Fel-Pro part numbers that have been introduced in the past year for more than 2.3 million Subaru vehicles.

Each new Fel-Pro head set features the brand’s premium, problem-solving PermaTorque MLS head gaskets, which the company says provides the robust seal needed to contain peak combustion pressures and temperatures and withstand the significant casting motion encountered in many of today’s automotive engines. Each gasket features multiple layers of full-hard stainless steel, precisely engineered sealing beads and the brand’s proprietary blue aftermarket coating, which accommodates a wider range of surface finishes. Also featured in each head gasket is the brand’s exclusive LaserWeld stopper layer, which provides a precisely determined compression limit to help reduce head lift and bore distortion and prevent gasket damage while ensuring a superior combustion seal.

Belts and Pulley Alignment

A misalignment of the plane of the belt can occur when a pulley is not parallel to the other pulleys on the belt drive system.

Drive Belt Alignment Alignment is key to the health of an engine belt. The belt drive system is designed to create friction between the grooves on the belt and pulley to transfer power from the crankshaft to the alternator, water pump or power steering pump. If the grooves on the belt do not align with the pulleys, the friction won’t be evenly applied and can result in wear and noise.
