Recognizing the importance of running a profitable business while still keeping pace with ever-changing automotive technology, Federated has introduced a new training initiative to provide professional service providers with business management techniques to improve profits and enhance customer satisfaction.

The Federated Profit Improvement Seminar Program, which was developed in association with Affinia and the Essential Actions Design Group, consists of field training coupled with workbooks and an interactive CD that allows for benchmarking of statistical data and development of profit plans specific to each service providers’ business.

“This new training program is another example of the great tools Federated provides its customers to help them succeed in today’s competitive marketplace,” said Phil Moore, vice president of marketing for Federated Auto Parts. “Our goal is to help our service provider customers see that making small changes in how they do business everyday can make a big difference to their bottom line.”

The Federated Profit Improvement Seminar Program is just another in a long line of Federated’s innovative and comprehensive training programs that have set Federated apart from the competition.

Not only does Federated work very closely with its supplier partners to insure that their training programs are made available to Federated Car Care Center members, but Federated has partnered with Delphi Integrated Services Solutions to offer in-depth technical training to help technicians stay proficient in today’s automotive technology.

Federated believes that the starting point for all learning should be an assessment of skill level and knowledge to determine the specific courses that will provide the type of training required. A Core Assessment is available to evaluate knowledge of air conditioning, brakes, steering and alignment, and battery starting and charging systems. The Drivability & Emissions Assessment evaluates current knowledge of electrical and computer related systems that affect the operation of 1996 and newer vehicles.

Because ASE Certification is the industry’s recognized sign of a qualified technician, Federated has adopted the Technician Career Development Program that is specially designed to teach the necessary skills required to pass the ASE certification test. A self-study ASE Fast Pass test prep series covers each ASE test category.

In addition to local and regional training seminars, Federated offers training in various forms to fit today’s demanding lifestyles. Self-study programs allow the technician to set the pace of their education program, providing the perfect alternative for continued education at home or on the job. The self-study programs include a student workbook, sample questions, a final exam and a high quality video, CD or online training that will enhance the learning process by visual presentation of the system being discussed. More information can be found at www.federatedautoparts.com.

“Federated is committed to providing first-class training programs,” said Moore. “We believe it is important for service providers to not only be proficient in the technical aspect of their business, but to have the knowledge and tools to become more profitable and stay ahead of their competition in an always evolving marketplace.”
