NAPA AUTO PARTS, the Official Auto Parts Store of the Goodguys Rod & Custom Association, awarded Coatesville, PA, resident Tom Baker the NAPA Trick Truck award at the 4th Great American Nationals held in Pocono, PA, recently for his 1934 Dodge Truck.

Baker’s Dodge was seven years in the making, starting in November 1999. The truck has now been revamped with a viper red paint job, suicide doors and an extra back seat courtesy of a friend. The truck also sports a custom-fit sunroof and a bed cover with a spoiler for a sporty look.

Under the hood, a 354 Hemi engine and a Chevy transmission gives the truck some extra power. Baker says at least 3,000 man hours were put into the truck. The Chevy tallies about 8,500 miles because Baker makes sure to drive the truck to shows rather than taking it in a trailer.

In addition to receiving the NAPA Trick Truck award, Baker earned a $100 NAPA gift certificate for tools from the on-site NAPA Tool & Equipment tent, as well as a NAPA hat, T-shirt and grease towel.

NAPA is presenting Trick Truck awards at all 24 Goodguys events with a projected annual attendance of 1.7 million.
