Bendix Adds 200 New Part Numbers to Brake Pad Line-Up

Since the first of the year, Bendix has launched 200 new part numbers into the channel. This addition will help Bendix customers cover more than 2 million additional cars, trucks and SUVs on the road today, the company said.

Last week at AAPEX in Las Vegas, Bendix announced it is expanding its product offerings based on customer feedback, as well as providing content enhancements right in the box.

Since the first of the year, Bendix has launched 200 new part numbers into the channel. This addition will help Bendix customers cover more than 2 million additional cars, trucks and SUVs on the road today, the company said.

“Our goal is to show the channel that we are a true, full-line supplier of both fast- and slow-moving parts, so that our distributors need to only call one source for all their braking needs,” said Jim Kelley, director of sales, Americas for Friction Materials LLC. “We are not only providing them with the proper part numbers but also providing them with everything they need right in the box.”

Bendix noted that all new brake pad part numbers will include the following enhancements:

1. Shims – A variety of premium noise insulators are used across the Bendix product lines to help eliminate noise-related comebacks. Every disc pad SKU includes a noise insulator, and all of the insulators have been attached at the factory.

2. Hardware – From abutment kits to spreader springs, all necessary hardware needed to help restore OE performance, eliminate comebacks and reduce installation time is included in the box.

3. Wire Wear Sensors – Wear sensors allow the vehicle’s wear indicator system to operate as originally designed. Restoring the wear indicator function is necessary for a top-notch premium brake job.

4. Product Protection – Each brake pad set is individually wrapped to guarantee shipment quality.

Distributors interested in learning more about the enhanced Bendix product offering should contact their Friction Materials sales representative or email [email protected]. Technicians should contact their local Bendix Brakes distributor.

Long-Life Coolants Explained

Different types of coolants cover a range of applications from diesel to domestic, Asian and European vehicles. Each one is formulated to a specific manufacturer’s specifications to keep their engines at an optimal temperature. But, changes to the old one-size-fits-all formula has led to confusion for consumers and even some technicians.

Diagnosing Intelligent Cooling Systems

The majority of cooling systems on the roads react to what is happening inside the combustion chamber. After the engine is stressed, the heat causes the thermostat to open. Increases in temperatures will also cause the cooling fans to come on. The heat carried by the coolant is the trigger for operation of the fans and thermostat.

Modern Cooling System Design: It’s Not About Temperature; It’s About Powertrain

Given the advanced state of internal combustion engine technology, some recent cooling system innovations will actually increase engine torque and fuel economy while reducing exhaust emissions. Let me simplify that idea: new cooling system technology will make engines run better and cleaner. So, let’s get on the same page by reviewing some basics.
