Federated Kennys Racing in the Dirt for Charity at Annual ‘Prelude to a Dream’

As they have for each of the past six years, Federated spokesmen Kenny Schrader and Kenny Wallace will participate in the seventh annual "Prelude to the Dream" dirt track race on June 8 at the Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio. Although they are Federated Racing teammates, the Kennys will race their Federated dirt track cars against each other to raise money for four children's hospitals.

As they have for each of the past six years, Federated spokesmen Kenny Schrader and Kenny Wallace will participate in the seventh annual “Prelude to the Dream” dirt track race on June 8 at the Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio. Although they are Federated Racing teammates, the Kennys will race their Federated dirt track cars against each other to raise money for four children’s hospitals.

“We are honored that the two Kennys will be driving Federated dirt cars in this great charity event,” said J.R. Bishop, director of racing and event marketing for Federated Auto Parts. “Some of the greatest names in racing compete in this race, but the Kennys are two of only five drivers who have driven in all six ‘Preludes.’ This shows how well respected they are among their fellow drivers and how popular they are with race fans of all ages.”

While there will be an individual race winner of the “Prelude,” there also will be a race within the race with the drivers split into four teams of six drivers, each representing a children’s hospital.  The all-star dirt late model race will be shown live on HBO Pay-Per-View, with proceeds from the telecast supporting four of the nation’s top children’s hospitals: Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Children’s Medical Center in Dallas, Levine Children’s Hospital in Charlotte and St. Louis Children’s Hospital.

Schrader will race for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta along with teammates, Clint Bowyer, Ron Capps, Carl Edwards, Joey Logano and Ryan Newman. The inaugural winner of the Prelude in 2005, Wallace, will team up with Justin Allgaier, Kyle Busch, Ricky Carmichael, Kasey Kahne and Bobby Labonte on behalf of St. Louis Children’s Hospital.

The “Prelude” is organized by Tony Stewart and features other prominent drivers such as Jimmie Johnson and Matt Kenseth.

The six previous “Prelude to the Dreams” have collectively raised more than three million dollars  for charity. The broadcast will begin at 7 p.m. ET on June 8 with an immediate replay. Information about the race can be found at www.PreludeToTheDream.org.
