Identifix Named One of TechShop Magazine’s ‘Top 5 Tools’ for 2010

Identifix, one of the nation's premier sources of online and hotline vehicle diagnostic, maintenance and repair information, announced recently that the company is a winner of TechShop Magazine's 2010 Top 5 Tools Award. Only 21 manufacturers were awarded this year's honor.

Identifix, one of the nation’s premier sources of online and hotline vehicle diagnostic, maintenance and repair information, announced recently that the company is a winner of TechShop Magazine’s 2010 Top 5 Tools Award. Only 21 manufacturers were awarded this year’s honor.

Each month, TechShop readers report the top 5 tools they use in their shop and on the job. Award winners are determined based on the number of times a company or product is mentioned by shop owners and technicians in the previous six issues of TechShop, in the Top 5 Favorite Tools section.

“We’re obviously thrilled to be the recipient of this award, but even more rewarding is that this honor is determined by shop owners and technicians who count on us every day,” commented Jeff Sweet, Identifix president.  “It can be a challenge to position an online product as a ‘tool,’ so this recognition also affirms that we’re an essential resource to shops, or as one of our customers recently put it: ‘as important as a 10mm wrench’,” Sweet added.

Identifix serves the automotive aftermarket with a telephone based Repair Hotline service to assist technicians in diagnosing vehicles in their repair shop — fielding 15-20,000 calls per month, and Direct-Hit, an online diagnostic information service that allows technicians to access the Identifix database of symptoms and potential fixes with over 25,000 subscribers.
