Atlas Copco Takes Over Tools Distribution in Southern USA

Atlas Copco Tools & Assembly Systems LLC has agreed to take over the sales and marketing of products and services in southern United States from its current distributor Tooling Technologies Inc. The agreement further strengthens Atlas Copco’s presence, market coverage and support to customers in the region.

"We are very pleased with this opportunity to integrate a larger part of the U.S. into the Atlas Copco sales organization and offer our customers an even wider range of sophisticated products, services and accessories," says Mats Rahmstrom, business area president, Atlas Copco Industrial Technique. "The agreement broadens our customer base, increases the aftermarket share of revenues and reduces the cost level."

Tooling Technologies had revenues in 2009 of approximately $12 million. Sales are in Texas and surrounding states, including northern Mexico. Customers are in the motor vehicle industries and general industries, as well as segments such as petrochemical/oilfield, power generation, government, electronics and aerospace.

Atlas Copco and Tooling Technologies have made a mutual agreement to fully transfer the distribution of the Atlas Copco products and services to Atlas Copco Tools & Assembly Systems LLC in the territory. Customers in Mexico will be transferred to the Atlas Copco Customer Center in Mexico.
