Standard Motor Products announces it assisted more than 10,000 technicians in diagnosing vehicle issues in 2005 through its Standard Plus Club (SPC) program. By combining a live technician hotline, professional technician seminars and a new online technical information website that is available 24-hours-a-day, seven-days-a-week, technicians received answers to tough diagnostic issues.

“Getting the latest information and answers to tough questions quickly are keys to success, and the Standard Plus Club program offers both,” said John Nodson, Standard Motor Products’ director of marketing. “With over 10,000 professional technician members, it is the only complete technical support program in the automotive aftermarket.”

The technical hotline answers questions on all automotive issues by experienced and highly trained ASE technicians who have access to more than $1 million of factory manuals, multiple electronic libraries, a database of previous phone calls with their solutions and many years of hands on experience.

The new SPC Online Plus Technical website offers 21st Century solutions. Access to technical information, troubleshooting advice, wiring diagrams, drive cycle tests, trouble codes, flashing information, labor guides, solutions, TSBs and more are now available whenever technicians need it, via the Internet. The site also offers a direct link to request a live technician callback, if needed.

“The SPC Online Plus program contains a tremendous amount of information and is highly competitive with the electronic and online information programs that are currently available,” concluded Nodson. “Standard Motor Products is giving professional technicians the information they need to repair vehicles quickly and accurately the first time.”
