Tenneco Increases Production, Coverage of Monroe Quick-Strut Assemblies

Tenneco has announced the third expansion of production capacity and another increase in application coverage for the popular Monroe Quick-Strut assembly, the first comprehensive, fully assembled replacement strut solution for late-model passenger vehicles.

Tenneco has announced the third expansion of production capacity and another increase in application coverage for the popular Monroe Quick-Strut assembly, the first comprehensive, fully assembled replacement strut solution for late-model passenger vehicles.

Tenneco has added a third Quick-Strut assembly production cell to its Paragould, AR, ride control manufacturing operation to accommodate increased demand for this popular time-saving solution. In addition to increased production capacity, the company has announced that it will again expand Quick-Strut assembly coverage with 23 new part numbers scheduled for introduction in 2007.

“The Monroe Quick-Strut assembly has been a significant ‘win’ for Tenneco and the distributors and service providers who rely on Monroe products,” said Bill Dennie, director of ride control channel management, North American aftermarket, Tenneco. “This premium product has once again demonstrated the Monroe brand’s commitment to innovation in the ride control category.”

Introduced in 2004, the Monroe Quick-Strut assembly features a replacement bearing plate, upper and lower spring isolators, upper spring seat, coil spring, boot kit and premium application-engineered Monroe Sensa-Trac strut. Each assembly’s spring rate and strut valving are carefully tuned to the vehicle’s factory-specified ride and handling profile. The additional Monroe Quick-Strut assembly coverage will include a broad range of popular domestic and foreign-nameplate applications such as the Chevrolet Cavalier, Chevrolet Impala (police/taxi package), Dodge Caravan, Honda Accord and Civic, Nissan Maxima and Toyota Camry (6-cylinder).

“The Quick-Strut assembly offers the best of both worlds for the automotive service shop owner – it significantly speeds strut replacement in most cases while also providing a complete, high-quality repair that will help restore the OE-type ride and handling the customer demands,” Dennie said.
