Brake Parts Inc. is a major supporter of the nationwide Brake Safety Awareness Week sponsored by the non-profit Motorist Assurance Program (MAP). The nationwide education program is scheduled for August 26 through September 1, 2007.

Motorists can receive a free brake inspection for their vehicle at thousands of participating automotive service centers across the country. Additionally, the participating service centers will be handing out free literature discussing the importance of properly maintaining their vehicle, and simple tips motorists can do to help ensure a safe, trouble-free ride.

“Promoting the importance of regular brake inspections has always been a high priority,” said Jeff Stauffer, senior vice president of global group marketing for Affinia. “Properly working brakes ensures not only a safe ride for you and your passengers, but also for others on the road. Brake Safety Awareness Week is the perfect time each and every year to have your brakes inspected.”

The industry-leading brake parts company is sending more than 5,000 customized kits to its Brake and Safety members and will send additional kits to other customers of Raybestos brand brakes. The kit consists of a brake awareness poster that asks customers to stop in for a free brake inspection. Recipients also receive a countermat (in both English and Spanish) with a schematic of a traditional braking system that illustrates ways to diagnose and correct common braking problems like wear, cracking and contamination.

To receive a free Raybestos Brake Safety Awareness kit to tell your customers you’re participating in Brake Safety Awareness Week, visit www.raybestos.com and sign up to become a member of the exclusive Raybestos Brake and Safety Center Program. You can also receive a free kit by contacting your local Raybestos brand district sales manager.
