Fifteen lucky automotive technicians can now enjoy the latest audio and video entertainment on their own premium iPod Touch players thanks to their early entries into the “Conquer the Canyon” sweepstakes promotion from Remy International, Inc.

The “Conquer the Canyon” promotion, which continues through September 30, 2008, enables technicians to earn sweepstakes entries for a grand-prize 2008 4WD GMC Canyon truck by completing at least five qualifying installations of Remy alternators and starters.

In addition to the grand-prize drawing for the GMC Canyon truck, Remy offered iPod Touch handheld audio/video players to the first 15 technicians to document at least five qualifying Remy installations.

Winners of these bonus prizes are:

• Ralph Oliver, Bluegrass Premier Auto, Bowling Green, KY
• Ken Sloan, Sloan’s Auto, Orlando, FL
• Novy Calvo, IC Auto Tech, Chamblee, GA
• Clayton Norris, Tires Plus, Atlanta, GA
• Shanon Greisen, Bradshaw’s Service Center, Portland, OR
• Ken Kania, Rochester Firestone, Rochester, MI
• Paul Thompson, A&A Auto Service, Troy, MI
• Don Goetz, Advanced Mobile Fleet, Cincinnati, OH
• Brad Miller, A&B Transmission, Shelley, ID
• Bud Serr, Jim Serr Auto, Idaho Falls, ID
• Wayne Kolp, XperTech Car Care, Delray Beach, FL
• Pat Russell, Pat’s Automotive, Lafayette, TN
• Noah Farrow, Express Tire & Lube, Scottsville, KY
• Mark Cox, Portland Precision Care, Portland, TN
• Dave Leonard, Schmidt Automotive, Indianapolis, IN

In the promotion’s second phase, technicians are encouraged to earn multiple entries into the grand-prize drawing by completing as many qualifying Remy installations as possible through the September 30 deadline. Technicians receive one sweepstakes entry for every five qualifying Remy installations. (Restrictions apply. See program rules for details.) Program tracking cards are available through any Remy Authorized Distributor.

“Really? I won an iPod? That’s awesome!” said Dave Leonard, parts manager for Schmidt Automotive in Indianapolis. “I’ve already got six installations on my next tracking card for the truck drawing.” Leonard said Schmidt Automotive has used Remy products for five years with excellent results. “I use mostly new Remy units rather than reman because the price is so competitive. It’s a great up-sell for the customer,” he said.

Clayton Norris, manager of a Tires Plus store in Atlanta, said he switched to Remy products to participate in the promotion. “I had never used Remy before now,” he said. “I’ve had no issues – the products look great and they are great quality. I’m five-for-five in terms of quality right now – one alternator and four starters.”
