Associated Equipment Announces Jump Starter With Extra-Long Cables And Light Diagnostics

The heavy-duty portable power unit includes light diagnostics displaying voltage output of the vehicle battery, voltage output of the vehicle alternator and the longest DC cables in the portable power industry, according to the company.

AssocLogoRedBorder_CMYKAssociated Equipment Corporation (AEC) announces the new KS401 KwikStart Industrial Jump Starter designed, patented and assembled in the U.S. The heavy-duty portable power unit includes light diagnostics displaying voltage output of the vehicle battery, voltage output of the vehicle alternator and the longest DC cables in the portable power industry, according to the company.

“The KS401 and KS400 are the only portable power units on the market with built-in light diagnostics,” said Gary Mackey, vice president of sales & marketing. “This means that a technician can measure the output of the vehicle battery or the alternator output after the vehicle starts; digital LEDs display the voltages measured and eliminates the need for a separate voltmeter,” continued Mackey.

“We are proud that Associated Equipment invested in St. Louis area toolmakers to make the injection molding die sets as well as manufacture the industrial strength housings we use for the KS401 and KS400,” stated Kim Cottle, president and CEO. “We designed a unique and patented product with features that differentiate it from imported retail units.”

With extra-long 7’ field replaceable cables and the same heavy-duty steel clamps used in Associated battery chargers, the KS401 can be set on the ground and easily reaches the battery in most 4×4 pickups, sport utility and other high-profile vehicles. A unique ergonomic impact-resistant case with rubberized base allows the unit to survive accidental drops in tough environments. The12V 22Ah sealed AGM battery delivers 1,700 peak amps and 360 CCA of cold crank power for even the harshest conditions. The KS401 features a digital LED display with internal battery state-of-charge readings as well as a 12V power port and USB power port.
