Auto-Care-Association-Logo-300x154The Automotive Warehouse Distributors Association (AWDA) and the Auto Care Association have selected the recipients for the 2015 Auto Care Internship Scholarship. Three students will receive scholarships of $2,500 to contribute to the costs of round-trip travel to the internship location, lodging, utilities and food. As part of the Auto Care Association’s Auto Care Jobs and Career Development Program, this program was designed to provide financial support for students pursuing internships across the country to gain valuable, real-world education in a variety of auto care industry careers.

The 2015 recipients and their internships are:
• Jessica Humbert, DePaul University, will intern with Valvoline in Lexington, Kentucky. Humbert will work with a small team of category managers and retail data to produce reports and insights, and promote tracking and analytics.
• Cody Knoll, Northwood University, will intern with Automann in Somerset, New Jersey. Knoll’s experiences will include shipping and receiving in the warehouse, and customer service in the office.
• Ian Stout, Grinnell College, will intern with GCommerce in Des Moines, Iowa. In the implementation department, Stout will work with automotive aftermarket distributors to help facilitate exchange of electronic information with their vendors.

This scholarship is intended for college students majoring in programs that have direct application to the auto care industry pursuing internships in locations more than 100 miles from their permanent residence.

Scholarship recipients were chosen by a selection committee that includes members of AWDA, the Auto Care Association Education Committee and Young Auto Care Network Group (YANG) Advisory Council. Auto Care Association member companies that currently have an internship program should encourage eligible students to apply for this scholarship.
