MAHLE Original Flange Gasket Engineered To Match Nissan OE Form, Fit And Function

The MAHLE Original exhaust flange gasket from MAHLE Aftermarket is engineered to match the OE Nissan part exactly for OE form, fit and function. Designed to fit 1996-2010 Nissan 1.6L through 3.5L engines, the exhaust flange gasket features a multi-layer steel (MLS) construction to ensure the best initial and long-term seal.

MAHLE - Flange GasketThe MAHLE Original gasket (part No. F7480) uses four layers of 301 full hard stainless steel with an embossment on each layer at critical sealing areas for maximum sealing. The spring steel layers provide tension when compressed, keeping the joint tight and preventing the seal from being blown out. By comparison, other aftermarket offerings available for this application are made from a composite gasket material consisting of a soft tin core and paper coating.

“The MAHLE Original exhaust flange gasket for this series of Nissan engines is manufactured to the same specifications as the OE gasket,” said Jon Douglas, general manager of MAHLE Aftermarket North America. “Other aftermarket suppliers offer little more than cardboard for this critical seal. It may hold for a short period of time, but down the road the customer will wonder why they need to have it replaced again so soon, subsequently paying more.”

MAHLE Aftermarket Inc. announced on June 30 that the new brand name for the gasket line would be MAHLE Original gaskets; these will be the same products sold in North America since 2007 under the Victor Reinz brand licensed to MAHLE Aftermarket. The MAHLE Original gasket line will continue to offer the best coverage in the aftermarket across domestic, Asian, European and heavy-duty applications. The MAHLE Original gasket offering includes nearly 10,000 part numbers, covering 900,000 applications, with more than 1,000 exclusive part numbers, according to the company.
