The Group Training Academy, consisting of Pronto Auto Parts and Federated Auto Parts, is sponsoring diesel training at the 2016 AVI conference, which takes place alongside AAPEX. With one session in the morning, and one session in the afternoon on Monday Oct. 31, the organizers say “Diesel Day” will be filled with plenty of tips and insider tricks.
The morning session will cover the 6.7L Power Stroke, including dynamic airflow into the complex air delivery system, the twin-inducer turbocharging system, the primary and secondary cooling systems and a selection of catalyst enhancements. The presenters will go over the service opportunities surrounding these systems, common TSBs and hands-on testing with the Ford integrated diagnostics software (IDS).
The afternoon session will cover all five generations of the Cummins light-duty truck fuel systems from the first generation to generation 5, which is out in the new Nissan Titan. Presenters will cover rough idle and misfire issues, along with several common trouble codes such as P7100 mods and P0251 code.
“Adding diesel training to the roster this year complements the overall value of our conference. We are proud to be an industry leader in innovative training, especially in diesel diagnostics,” said Paul Louwers, CEO, Automotive Video Innovations (AVI).
