“Effective September 1, 2010, the California Air Resources Board (CARB) has a new regulation that requires California’s automotive maintenance industry to check the tire pressure of every vehicle that they service,” said Gary Hixson, product manager for Mitchell 1. “Not only will our new fitment information truly benefit the 40,000 service providers in California that are subject to this new regulation, which include smog check stations, engine repair facilities and oil service providers, but service providers across the country will find this feature helpful in completing their jobs more efficiently and effectively.”

The California Air Resources Board Tire Pressure Check Mandate will annually:
• Eliminate 700,000 metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions;
• Reduce the state’s fuel consumption by 75 million gallons; and
• Extend the average tire’s useful life by 4,700 miles.
