Icahn Automotive Awards $50,000 In Scholarships To Support Students Pursuing Automotive Technician Careers
Twenty students received $2,500 in an inaugural program from the parent company of service providers Pep Boys, AAMCO and Precision Tune Auto Care; part of a program to encourage the skilled trades.
The independent companies will be led by Chris Cox, CEO – Parts, and Brian Kaner, CEO – Service, who will report to Icahn Automotive’s board of directors and be supported by their own leadership teams, as well as a shared service division led by Chief Financial Officer Michael Nevin.
Investments in the automotive learning facility are part of a larger effort to address the industry’s technician shortage, a gap projected to grow to 46,000 positions by 2026.
