WIX Filters, a global manufacturer of filtration products, announced that it will serve as the primary partner for nine races of Dreyer & Reinbold Racing’s No. 24 GRC Lites machine and driver Alex Keyes, starting with the series opener scheduled for April 28-29 in Memphis, Tennessee.
WIX will be the primary partner for nine races, including Memphis, the doubleheader in Ottawa, Canada, Indianapolis, the doubleheader race weekends in Atlantic City and Seattle, and the championship concluding event in Los Angeles, Ca. WIX Filters will also serve as an associate partner on DRR’s No. 3 and No. 44 DRR GRC Lites entries driven by Travis PeCoy and Christian Brooks, respectively.
WIX Filters, now in its 78th year of production, and Dreyer & Reinbold Racing are entering their fifth year of partnership within Red Bull Global Rallycross, and their third year together with driver Alex Keyes of Folsom, California, a five-time GRC Lites race winner, in the cockpit.
“DRR has been a phenomenal partner for WIX the past few years and we are thrilled to continue that relationship,” said Jennifer Gibson, brand manager for WIX. “Alex Keyes’ love for the sport is apparent in his drive and dedication, and his interaction with fans is incredible to be around. We can’t wait for the season to start.”
In 2016, the Dreyer & Reinbold Racing organization captured the Red Bull GRC Lites Championship that included five feature victories, 23 heat race wins and eight fastest qualifying honors.
“We are enormously grateful and appreciative to have WIX Filters back with Dreyer & Reinbold Racing in 2017,” said Dennis Reinbold, team owner for the Dreyer & Reinbold Racing GRC Lites program. “WIX Filters is a valued partner of our team, and has made numerous valuable contributions to Dreyer & Reinbold Racing, both on and off the race track through our five year partnership. The WIX brand means quality and performance, which is what we’re all about. We hope to put WIX Filters in the winner’s circle again in 2017 and could not be more appreciative of their commitment to us.”
Keyes, the 20-year-old racer who started his career in open-wheel cars, begins his third GRC Lites season in 2017 after recording Lites victories in both 2015 and 2016. Keyes will make his second full-time season showing and is expected to be a leading contender for the Red Bull GRC Lites Championship.
“It’s great to have WIX Filters back on board with the Dreyer & Reinbold Racing team in 2017,” said Keyes, who collected a Lites main event win last year at Atlantic City in WIX Filters colors.
“WIX Filters has been a leader in its field for decades and I’m honored, humbled and feel a great privilege to carry the WIX colors again this year. I plan to help put WIX Filters back on top of the podium many times and compete for a Championship in 2017.”
