WIX Filters Awards $34,347.25 To National FFA Chapters

The company's annual box-top redemption program supports FFA chapters for the 30th consecutive year.

WIX Filters, a global manufacturer of filtration products, has awarded $34,347.25 to national FFA chapters through a box-top redemption program in partnership with the National FFA Organization.

“As a former member of FFA, I know what a great opportunity it is for local chapters to raise money and build momentum for their ongoing initiatives. This program is near and dear to my heart, and I couldn’t be more proud that it’s one of WIX’s most popular and successful community initiatives,” said Jennifer Gibson, brand manager for WIX Filters. “The program’s annual success is a result of the participation of auto parts stores, shops, local agribusinesses and individuals who purchase WIX Filters, and we thank them on behalf of the next generation of agricultural professionals, engineers, chemists and other leaders who benefit.

“We’re thrilled our partnership with FFA enters its 31st year in 2017,” added Gibson said

Between January and April 15, 2016, students in participating FFA chapters redeemed 117,389 WIX box tops for a donation from WIX of $29,347.25, or 25 cents per box top.

In addition, five FFA chapters across the country each received a $1,000 bonus from WIX, bringing the total donation to $34,347.25. As part of the program’s incentives, FFA chapters competed for five $1,000 bonuses in different categories, including most box tops redeemed overall and most increase in tops redeemed from the previous year. The five FFA chapters that earned a $1,000 bonus are:

  • Bison FFA, Bison, South Dakota
  • Sugar River Valley FFA, Newport, New Hampshire
  • Chippewa Hills FFA, Remus, Michigan
  • Dade City Middle FFA, Dade City, Florida
  • Dixie FFA, Due West, South Carolina

The 2017 program will run through April 30, and students in participating FFA chapters across the United States can redeem WIX Filters box tops for a donation from WIX.

The National FFA Organization, formerly known as Future Farmers of America, is a youth organization of more than 649,355 student members in nearly 7,859 local FFA chapters across all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The FFA mission is to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
