WIX Filters continues to provide product training and education on the latest filtration technologies to customers by providing a hands-on, classroom experience at the WIX Institute of Filtration Technology in Gastonia, NC, and online courses through its eLearning Center.

This year marks the 18th year of the Institute, with classes currently scheduled for WIX brand customers in June, September and November. The Institute is a three-day course that offers the latest information on all types of filtration and products, the systems they are used on and how they are designed and manufactured.

“We are proud to support our customers through our commitment to education with a curriculum that appeals to technicians, fleet managers, educators and distributors, whether it’s at the Institute or through our eLearning Center,” said Paul Bandoly, manager of technical services and customer training at WIX Filters.”

“Our goal is to educate the customer on the types of filtration products available, as well as their design, construction and use,” said Bandoly, who is the lead instructor for the Institute.  “We also want our customers to understand the facilities where our products are manufactured, as well as future trends in the filtration industry.”

The intensive, specialized three-day training curriculum includes:

• The Science of Filtration;

• Oil Filtration – Systems Overview;

• Cataloging and New Products;

• Engineering Laboratory – Testing procedures, product evaluation and diagnosis;

• Engine Systems Technology;

• Allen Plant Tour;

• Air Filtration Testing;

• Air Filtration – Systems Overview;

• Product Development;

• Master Distribution Center Tour; and

• Racing Program.

About 60 percent of the training session is devoted to line and plant tours and laboratory and testing facilities.  In addition, participants receive functional, hands-on knowledge that they carry over directly to their daily work.

The cost of educational materials, hotel accommodations, breakfast and lunch will be provided to each participant by the Institute. Travel costs and any other incidentals will be the participant’s responsibility. The Institute’s professional travel service is available to coordinate all travel, if necessary.

WIX Filters also hosts a Filtration eLearning Center offering convenient online courses. Participants earning a 70 percent or better on course ending quizzes will earn the title of Certified Filtration Specialist. Throughout the process students can earn several certificates that will distinguish them as a provider of excellent customer service.

For registration information and forms, contact your local WIX Filter district manager or email [email protected]. Class size is limited to the first 20 participants who send in the registration form and a required $75 deposit, which is refundable upon completion of the course.
