The Jimco X6 SCORE trophy truck from All German Motorsports will again compete in the legendary Baja 1000 Desert Race in Mexico lubricated by LIQUI MOLY motor oil. Although they already achieved 12th place in the Trophy Truck test run last year, expectations are significantly higher this year.
This trophy truck is based on the BMW X6, although now little is left in common with the stock vehicle. The team from All German Motorsports in California started developing their truck in a completely new direction: High strength, light weight materials ensure that the truck is up to 1,700 pounds lighter than the competition models. The first season served for collecting experience and optimization.
Some things were improved, some proved superior without any modification; for instance the engine and transmission oil from LIQUI MOLY. In addition to the chassis and steering, the lubricants are also subjected to extreme loads during this desert rallye.
"Our research engineers are well aware of the formulations suitable for conditions such as high heat and large quantities of dust and how they behave under such conditions," stated Peter Baumann, marketing manager at LIQUI MOLY. "But nevertheless it is always helpful for us to test our products under such extreme conditions. Even though normal car drivers will hardly ever be confronted with such severe conditions, they profit from our experience, which we use to further improve our products."
LIQUI MOLY has provided support for the Jimco X6 SCORE trophy truck from All German Motorsports from the very beginning. "It all matches up well – motor oil made in Germany and the ‘All German Motorsports’ team," continued Baumann.
This year’s Baja 1000 will be held from the 14th to 17th of November. The route through Baja Mexico extends over 1000 miles from Ensenada to La Paz.
LIQUI MOLY is available at Worldpac, IMC, NAPA, Bavarian Autosport, Northside Imports and SSF.
