WELD Announces $125,000 Racing Contingency Sponsorship Program For 2015

WELDWELD recently announced it has committed more than $125,000 in prize money for its 2015 NHRA contingency sponsorship program. This year, the company has added contingency sponsorship for the Top Fuel Dragster and Fuel Funny Car categories in the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series.

In addition, WELD continues its contingency sponsorship of the Pro Stock, Top Alcohol Dragster, Top Alcohol Funny Car, Competition Eliminator, Super Stock, Stock Eliminator, Super Comp, Super Gas, Super Street, Top Sportsman and Top Dragster categories. Competitors who use WELD wheels and display the brand’s decal on their racecars are eligible for contingency payouts in these NHRA classes.

“We are excited to expand our commitment to the NHRA drag racing community through our contingency program to reward drivers who utilize WELD wheels in competition,” said Norm Young, president and CEO, WELD. “We are pleased to add the Top Fuel and Funny Car categories to our program as we continue to provide the fastest and quickest wheels to racers at all levels. As a new NHRA season begins, we want to send our best wishes to all the drivers for a safe and exciting season.”

WELD offers high-quality race wheels for dirt, oval and drag racing. Each WELD wheel is precision-engineered for maximum performance on-track to give each WELD racer the winning edge, the company adds. WELD wheels are engineered, produced and tested at WELD’s facilities in Kansas City, Mo., using only aircraft-grade aluminum alloys and state-of-the-art manufacturing processes.
