Two arrested in thefts from Chesterfield auto businesses

CHESTERFIELD, VA — Chesterfield police have arrested two men who they say stole copper wire, batteries, catalytic converters and other car parts from used car dealers and auto repair shops for more than a year along the Jefferson Davis Highway corridor near state Route 10.

Kenneth P. Sprouse and James C. Strickland, both 25 and from the 13400 block of Bermuda Place Drive, were arrested last Wednesday and charged with more than 20 offenses, including grand larceny, possession of burglary tools and theft with the intention to sell stolen property.
