Tenneco Inc. continues its aggressive coverage expansion of Monroe ride control components for foreign-nameplate vehicles, with immediate availability of dozens of new part numbers for late-model Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Volkswagen and Land Rover applications. Monroe offers coverage for 98 percent of passenger vehicles registered in North America.

The latest coverage for import applications includes Monroe Reflex shock absorbers for the 2005 Nissan Frontier, Pathfinder and Xterra and ’05 Toyota Tacoma; Monroe Reflex struts for the 2004 Land Rover Freelander and ’05 Toyota Tacoma; Sensa-Trac struts for 2003-05 Honda Civic and 2003-04 Honda Accord applications and Toyota Rav4 models manufactured between 1996 and April 2000; and Monro-Matic Plus struts for 1999-04 Volkswagen Beetle, Golf and Jetta models, 1996-00 Honda Civics, 1996-98 Nissan Pathfinders and 1998-2002 Honda Accords. Tenneco has also added Monroe Strut-Mate strut mounting kits for Hyundai Sonata, XG300 and XG350 models, 1998-02 Toyota 4Runner applications, the 2001 Honda Civic and 2002 Acura RSX Coupe.

The company plans to add more than 110 new Monroe ride control part numbers for foreign-nameplate applications this year, according to Mark Christiaanse, director of ride control product management, North American aftermarket, Tenneco.

“We continue to build on Monroe’s coverage leadership by leveraging Tenneco’s global original equipment manufacturing presence,” Christiaanse said. “Because Tenneco is an OE supplier to leading automakers worldwide, we can bring new import part numbers to North America faster than some competitors.”

Monroe shocks and struts are engineered and manufactured to deliver OE-style ride and handling. Each Sensa-Trac shock or strut is custom-tuned to address the unique ride control characteristics of the corresponding passenger car model. Monroe Reflex shocks and struts bring the same application-tuned approach to import light trucks and sport utility vehicles.
