Stabilus, a designer and manufacturer of gas springs and hydraulic vibration dampers, launched its customer road tour in August 2005. Featuring a Ford F-150 truck retrofitted with Stabilus products, the tour will visit major cities around the United States, Canada and Mexico on an extensive 18-month schedule. The road tour provides a unique opportunity for customers to learn more about Stabilus’ product lines through application demonstrations.

The F-150 truck is retrofitted with a variety of Stabilus’ gas springs and dampers, specifically designed for the automotive accessory industry including its LIFT-O-MAT INOX, KOMBI-LIFT, BLOC-O-LIFT-T, INTER-STOP and DORSTOP gas springs, as well as the new drop-gate damper EZDOWN.

Gas springs are a proven and reliable method of counterbalancing large covers and objects. They offer ideal capabilities for safely lifting, lowering and positioning heavy or cumbersome objects. More versatile than mechanical springs, gas springs offer the advantages of speed-controlled dampening, cushioned end motion, simple mounting, compact size, flat force curve and a wide range of available forces.
