SMP (Standard Motor Products, Inc.) announces it has received the 2008 Outstanding Training Award from the Aftermarket Auto Parts Alliance, Inc. (Alliance) in recognition of its commitment to helping the shareholders of the Alliance achieve success. The award was presented during the Alliance’s annual shareholders’ winter meeting, which was held Dec. 7-10 in Boca Raton, FL.
Richard Morgan, CEO, Aftermarket Auto Parts Alliance, Inc. and Fletcher Lord, president, Aftermarket Auto Parts Alliance & CEO of Parts Warehouse Inc., Little Rock, AR, presented the award plaque to Bob Kimbro, vice president sales of aftermarket sales, SMP and Garey Lange, program distribution, SMP.
“First of all, I’d like to thank the Alliance shareholders for recognizing SMP’s outstanding achievement in providing the best training in the aftermarket,” said Kimbro. ”This is the eighth year in a row that we have received this prestigious honor. Our field and in-house training requires a joint effort on the part of our sales force and our training departments. SMP provides “Masters Series” Engine Management Technician Training Programs and TCD Advanced Temperature Control Diagnostic Strategies Training for members of the Alliance. The advanced, hands-on training courses are conducted at SMP’s Corporate Training Center in Irving, TX. During 2008, SMP trained 9,532 technicians through 292 seminars on 29 different engine management topics.
